Keep posting, Fat Old Man! I've seen that, and it's hysterical! May have to add a few * or #, though.

My head could use a good pounce, CP.

Sorry, totally inadvertent, I wasn't paying attention!

Hello everyone, thought it was time I got all dressed up for Christmas.

Hope he gets paid ovetime CP! But you can't do anything about it - they have to make their own way, and if you say anything they are mummy's boys! We have to cut the apron strings.
When are his results due?

Hi, everyone! I saw the comments on Tim Tams and thought I'd let you all know that Pepperidge Farms now makes them here in the US! I tried some, and they're good; however, I've never had the originals, so would appreciate the opinion of someone who's eaten them both!!!

I meant to say I bought the Tim Tams at my local Harris-Teeter, and since they were displayed with various Christmas goodies, I don't know if they plan to distribute them year-round or just during the holidays.

Hi Everyone,

I have received a few messages from people that are disturbed by todays image. I check roughly 300 images at a time, and 99.9% of the time the images are totally harmless (though people still get upset with pics of cats & dogs). I am guessing that this image is used more in More...

I have been saying for ages that I had some made by Pepperidge Farm while I was living in Hawaii 10 years ago! They are very close to real TIm Tams.

Agreed, Marianne - I am just supicious of this woman's motives - is she threatened by 4T's intelligence? Also, he was told he had a fulltime job as No 3 in the store, but with only 3 employed this seems far-fetched (and he is okay with that) but it seems his job is as a full-time casual(?).

CP - Glad the hear the Pepperidge Farm Tim Tams are close to the originals. I suspect they've just made it to the Mainland - I know they haven't been available anywhere on the East Coast where I've lived or I would have sniffed 'em out long ago!!!

I like Peter/G explanation of todays image . Think I will do the other puzzles as its been a while since I've got past easy.

Pepperidge makes them??? Then where are they? I guess they haven't made it to the west coast. You know who else makes great cookies? CG's mom!!! CG, they came out great!

Gath - the New World Order conspiracy theory has been around for several decades. I actually had some friends in Virginia who packed up and moved to Idaho to join an ultra-conservative group to "defend" themselves against the "illuminati". That was more than 30 years ago. (They moved back East and resumed their normal lives about 25 years ago.)

shosho - make sure you try the chocolate chip spice cookies I mentioned yesterday. They're fabulous, too!!!

Good morning all - I miss Andre's TFTDs also.
Happy Birthday to Fishing Guy - enjoy your day.
I must admit I was disturbed by today's photo but it was obviously posted by someone trying to provoke this kind of discussion by us - now, who would do that??

Amelia, you're looking lovely today.

Vici's the one to ask about Tim Tams, I believe she has had both manufacturers wares (a lot of them!) and I think she said the Pepperidge Farm ones are acceptable.
You should have seen the look on her face the first time she ever did a Tim Tam Slam!!! Original are best for slamming, but one must try them all...

HOLIDAY EATING TIPS

1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Holiday spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.

2. Drink as much eggnog as you can. And quickly. It's More...

Today's image was disturbing to me too. The Dan Brown novels and subsequent movies are thought provoking and entertaining, but there's an underlying sinister aspect that I want nothing to do with.
14/Dec/09 10:13 AM
 |  |

I'm afraid that I'm rather naive about the image in the photo like Gath is. I certainly didn't like the look of it but didn't understand it's significance and hadn't seen it before.

Oh, and good morning all!

Do any of you in oz collect "Billy Points"? I've got 15 and would pass on the point code to anyone who could use it. I never will. PM me if you do.

Further to discussion on the Easy Image. To me it seems to be the Jewish Symbol overlaid on the reverse side of the great Seal of the USA. with 5 circles on the points of the star. To take a charitable view, it could be seen to be ecumentical with the Christian, Jewish and Olympic Symbols More...

The symbolism---whatever it is---has been claimed by lots of groups, or by those who attribute it to their enemies. The "Illuminati,", Freemasons, Zionists, the Trilateral Commission...it's possible to see whatever you want, wherever you want.

Every few years in the US, More...

In reference to the literature of Dan Brown and the many similar tomes which have appeared since the Da Vinci Code, it seems we are all becoming much more aware of the fact that many symbols and practices which are currently used have an historical basis which is quite different from what they mean today.
14/Dec/09 10:50 AM
 |  |

Yes, saylz...but the historical basis claimed is often a dozen different things by various parties, many mutually exclusive, contradictory, or just plain silly.

I entirely agree. Aesthetically, the image does nothing for me and it may well have some unknown sinister (are all left handed people sinister) connotation but I was merely trying to demystify the image.

When I first saw the image, I immediately thought of the Egyptian "all seeing eye" symbol. I had no idea that it was on the the Great Seal of the USA or that it was a masonic symbol.
Perhaps we should stick to cute puppies and mangy moggies.
14/Dec/09 11:14 AM

By the way, don't tell the PCs for as well as wanting to ban Christmas symbols in kindergartens (a nice German word), they'll want the Great Seal changed.

I finished up baking the gingerbread, almond crescents, and molasses cookies. I'm done for today. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow will be the booze balls, Jane's chocolate ones, and the Kourambiedes.
