I'm a grown child, I talk to and see my parents almost every day; it is easy because we live quite close by, and also they love to see their grandchildren.

My oldest daughter (only 14) has just spent three weeks away from me - back tomorrow - and we only spoke about four or five times. At that age, you are too busy making your friends and your life and that is more important.

Kathy, I was going over some of my emails and you were asking about suzanne & my time in Minneapolis, there were a couple of posts on the 29th of june, and then 30, then after suzanne got back on the 6th or 7th of july. USA dates.

I have grown kids that have been out of the house for a few years each. We talk to them both 2-5 times per week, plus emails back and forth. our feeling is that if you want to stay in touch, we need initiate as much as they do. I mean...How do people get to see these places without taking time off work which in this day and age is very much frowned upon. Plus as a casual (which most people are these days) time off means no pay which is sometimes very hard financially.
