I really should go get some exercise before it gets too hot. It is already in the high 20's celsius and rising.

Someone sent me an email about an artist letting a dog die from starvation for the sake of art.

I was upset and disgusted.

I checked it out on Snopes and it appears to be true.

WHAT IS OUR WORLD COMING TO?

What I meant was that my grandma liked breakfast cereal corn flakes. She did not chew her own feet.
As I rememeber it she could not reach to her feet with her hands let alone with her mouth.

I made a post earlier about a dog being starved to death for the sake of art - no reaction from anybody - doesn't anyone care?

Or is there a bunch of arty farty people out there who think this is all right.....

Peter:
I took it on board and I think it is utterly disgraceful. It is not only an indictment on morality, but also a true indication of the ridiculous route that art is taking; with rubbish winning all the accolades

WHOOPS!
Going, Broni? Going where?
I am not going to the centre of the earth in Bean's excavator to seek a new breed of extra-hairy Chippendales. I am not going to the moon to obtain green (blue anyway) cheese when it is available at half price across the channel in France. AHHHH!

Peter, wasn't the idea to make us think about it, not necessarily to post about it?

More. The problem is that one wonders, somewhat unproductively, about what one can DO about things like that

I, too, read your post, Peter and was appalled. Humans do such dreadful things to other living creatures. At the moment it is the annual "sport" of abandonning your pets by the side of the motorway or main road because you don't want to take them on holiday, or the sweet little puppy you More...

I will also addthat a few weeks ago in the UK there was a young child starved to death by her parents and her other siblings were also near the same state

The story of the "starving dog as art" has not been verified. If true, it is, indeed, an incredibly horrific account of one man's cruelty to animals. However, according to several watchdog websites, there seems to be more to this story than the original widely circulated e-mail. If More...

Peter - According to Snopes, the truth of the story was "undetermined".

The story of the girl dying from starvation whilst locked in a room with her siblings is definitely true. A neighbour saw them one day when they escaped the house and were trying to eat the food she had put out for the wild birds.

GannieMo - Sadly, there have also been cases in the US of child starvation, and in my opinion, the parents deserve a life sentence - if not the death penalty.
