Interesting expression, "in the offing." I've (we've?) used it all my life and never thought about it. But I have often "anchored off", meaning a safe distance away from danger. Very different from "anchor by."

Hey, Jerry...

If you were on the NYC jury trying the 9/11 murderers, would you be tempted to vote for acquital, just to embarrass this administration?

everyone! Day 4 of parent conferences has returned the laryngitis. How long is the record for having it? I think mine is 3 weeks now. I have been teaching sign language to my students. They're getting at responding in kind!

Actual it's really Ameslan (American version). Could be rather sticky if someone from say France or even England tried to communicate in sign language. Some words would not be understood.

We bought some Aerogard while in Victoria but I think we were given attractant rather than repellant. Everywhere we went we seemed to end up covered in flies. The Aerogard had absolutely no effect.

Very quiet here tonight. I have been out to a market at the old Yarralumla Woolshed selling all kinds of homemade crafts. Very hot, very dusty (dirt road into car parking areas, and we walked from the other side of the main road and along the dirt road!)

Only bought food at the market but it will be an expensive evening anyway. Lost a lens out of my glasses on the way back to the car!

Sorry I had to stop the poetry discussion. A guest arrive all of a sudden right at that time (2am here), and following that I shall be otherwise occupied with editing for a couple of days. The poetry discussion? Later perhaps.
Meanwhile, Rolanda please accept my condolences for the loss of your Aunt. Losing family members is always a hurt and I feel for you.
