Can't recall when I first posted, about mid 2006 I think. I know that I lurked a bit before actually posting.

BTW what happened to Ian of Boston?

Grannie Mo: The moon is but a pimple on the skin of the vast hyperspace. So, it reminds us of vast expanses of other worlds deep within our own. Right now, many members are on holiday in hyperspace, and, in our puny material world they appear merely to be resting in their armchairs in a state of stupor. Most are sober, but some are aided in their travel to other dimensions by alcoholic fuel.

Peter: I seem to rememer that, very unfortunately, Ian took umbrage over some dispute he was having with some other members, and went off in a huff. Many of us hoped it was a temporary huff, but it appears to be a serious, more lasting condition.

Thanks Rayray - thats a pity(Ian's departure). He could be a bit prickly at times but still provided a good debate. Hope he comes back sometime soon.

Peter and Rayray I think the final blow for Ian was when it became necessary to 'join' even free membership in order to post. This was done, by Gath, after a spell of 'spam' in great numbers, and the necessity to delete great swathes of posts.
Ian, for his own reasons prefered not to 'join' us.
A loss, yes, not just for the site but, I believe, for him too.

Yes, Grannie Mo. You are right about the trigger for Ian's departure; but apart from that there was also a serious underlying dispute going on the time. I always found Ian's comments challenging and interesting. He was always direct.

Ian was like an apparently savage, but actually soft-hearted, rottweiler.

G'night Peter. Bye for now Rayray, I must brave the elements, it is pouring here, and walk my dog.

Another quick hello, with no time to read posts. Spent the day in Berrima, met up with #1 daughter, SIL and the grandies and had lunch. My car was full with 4T and girlfriend, #2 daughter, my best friend who came up for the weekend from Melbourne to give me hugs, and me.
