Patmac and Anne,

I would love daylight saving here in SE Qld but it is determined by the north and west of Qld that it is too hot to have it. I loved it on the few occasions that we had it and made the most of the afternoon by taking my boys for walks or gardening etc. I felt I could fit More...

Actually the last time we had daylight saving in Qld my boys who are now 17 & 18 were about 3 or 4. I love it when I go visit the relatives in Canberra.

Victoria, hasn't Mr Beattie heard of 'Slip, Slop, Slap'? or he could look at a different aspect that could mean an extra hour play that could help with childhood obesity!

Personally I love Daylight Savings I get home @ 6pm and it means I can spend some outside play with my kids.

I read that comment from the Q'ld Premier, Victoria - and also the response from Joanne, Aitken, the Q'ld Cancer Fund's Director of Epidemiology. She said, 'There's no evidence to suggest any increased risk of skin cancer as a result (of daylight saving).....The middle of the day is the period More...

mAen everybody. Am having a lovely time in Perth. Am introducing my Aunt to sudoku for the first time. What fun!
 |  |
Good Maen all!

Canuk Greg - Lovely sentiments. Just about sums up why I spend so much time on this site! Love the jokes, too.

Hi everyone,

I've just added the ability for you to request your own pages. These pages don't have a puzzle, but allow you to place comments as normal. You can use these for book reviews/parties etc if you don't want to post on the main puzzle pages.

To request a page, go to 'More' and then choose the link at the bottom of the page.

Thanks Gath! You always come through!

An example page that I created is:
http://sudoku.com.au/party.aspx

The 'More' is in the main navigation bar, at the top of the page.

Gath you are sooooooo clever!!

Nice to hear you are having a lovely time in Perth, Vicky! Have you or are you going to meet up with any of the other sudoku clan while you're there? I loved Perth when I lived there back in the 80's. I'm sure it's changed quite a bit now! Used to live in Leeman as well 2 hours south of Geraldton (where Beehive lives). Hubby worked in the sand mine at Eneabba.
 |  |
Vicky/Queensland, where abouts in Perth are you?? and how long are you here for. Maybe we can arrange a get together. I do remember you said a couple of weeks ago you were coming here for a visit.
 |  |
GannieMo.....glad you and yours are having a great time in Margaret River. Husband and I honeymooned in Augusta.

 |  |
Hi everyone, cold in Melbourne today after a really hot day yesterday. A little rain too but not enough to ease the drought situation. We need a bigger effort around rain dancing!

Susan my b/day is the day after Rosemary's (but I'm a year older.. and my wedding anniversary is More...

Whew!! I come home from a big day of work followed by shopping and washing and daughter to dancing, son to touch football, to find 3000 birthdays and anniversaries to add. I've handwritten them, and will get to them later. COL I didn't add Paul's birthday as I remember you asking him if he wanted More...

Hi Everyone,

I think I saw people asking when the site was created.

I registered sudoku.com.au on the 19/May/2005, and the site went live a few days later. The archives go back till the 15th of May because I wanted to give people more than just 1 sudoku to play with.

Hey one of you Melbournites who's met Gath and Kym, can you find out their birthdays? We could use the new extra pages feature to give them a Baz type party complete with party hats, pink lemonade and fairy bread.
 |  |
Hey Gath, you still here? Can you tell us your birthdays?
 |  |
For those interested in a walk down memory lane, check out how the site was back then..

my recollections were fairly good about the start up date and also how basic the site was back then but it was still such a great innovation for playing sudoku. So many things to do on the site now I dont have enough time to do the sudoku puzzle in the paper.
 |  |
Very funny Gath!
 |  |
Wow! I just checked the old site. We've come a long way.
 |  |
I've been coming to this site since just before Easter and the changes during that time have been many
 |  |
lol gath, i chkd out the old site and that brought back some memories!! along with the memories of excited wows when you added the options of allow incorrect moves etc...

since then it has been a suprise nearly every week if not every day!!

once again, thank you so much for this site!! although i am unable to visit as regularly as before, i have made some wonderful friends here!!
 |  |
Hello Gath, I checked the old site out, too. I have been on here regularly since about June 2005. I didn't post comments when it was first possible because I had never thought to scroll down and didn't realise that the comments were actually shown. More...

Back from shearing shed, lunch followed by visit to chocolate company. Never thought I'd say this but I'm all chocolated out! Well for today any way.

 |  |
Hi GannieMo - glad to hear that you and your family are having a good time. Margaret River chocolate isn't too bad, is it. You can buy it at Dylan's here if they still sell it.

Hi Rosemary - it wasn't so much as not being game to make a comment, I just thought they went to Gath and nobody More...
 |  |
Actually, Rosemary, I was a bit nervous commenting at first but I'm glad I took that first step. The friends I've made on the site, in person, by skype, by e'mail & by 'phone from this site is absolutely amazing and wonderful.
Thank you so much Gath.
 |  |
Anne
yes I agree....have made lots of great friends from all around the world. it has opened up my horisons and educated me a lot about different parts of the world ... our differences and also how similar our lives and families actually are.
 |  |
Hello, Susan from Ingham! I do hope you were exaggerating when you said you had an EXTRA 3000 birthdays to add!! How many are there on the list in all, approximately? You are doing a sterling job, especially as you go to work, bring up a son and a daughter, see to the housework... I don't know how you find time! On behalf of everyone, may I say, 'WELL DONE, SUSAN!!'
 |  |
Yeah, no worries, I'll remember everybody's Birthday.

Oh wow, another flying pig!
 |  |
I agree with you Anne - I sat with my finger over the post comment button for a long time before actually pressing it and posting for the first time, way back then! ANDRE - is this the Kama Sutra chocolate you're eating - and have you found the surprise yet????
 |  |
LIZ - where are you in south france?
 |  |
Gath, the site has come such a long way. Did you envision this level of success from day 1? I've enjoyed the puzzles and international exchange for more than a year. The new feature for additional pages is a perfect solution for special interests and occasions... ''and the hits just keep oooon coming.'' Thank you for your many efforts to make our experience here the best.
 |  |
Yeah Susan - but then again - he got about 2,000 (not quite as many as you found today) Happy Birthday wishes on the day - so I figured it didn't matter anymore.
