I was outside saying goodbye to the two oldest kids and their partners, heading to the outlaws homes for Christmas dinner. I have sent them away with bellies so full, they can't face the thought of another meal!

Can't believe your garbage men work on Christmas Day! Ours never work on holidays -- the trash day just gets moved back a day! And I thought that US workers had the worst time as far as hours and vacations.... anyway Merry Christmas and day after and all that, it's 2am here and after taking a nap I'm wide awake... at least for now!

Thought I'd have a nana nap, but sleep didn't come, so it'll be early to bed for me. Didn't sleep much last night, and we were up very early. Virtually all the garbos would work for contractors now - rather than local government. A day is a day is a day. But at least they are allowed to start early and get it over with. I say 'they' actually its just one bloke driving an automated truck these days - nobody actually running around loading bins.

It is, of course, summer, so it is broad daylight by 5am - even before.

I now know for a fact that the kiddo is definitely sleep-walking when she comes into the big bed at 3am. The kiddo, awake, would never have stepped over a full Santa sack, and left the room ...
