Mike I stayed in a little fishing village called Alvor which was delightful. Beautiful fish restaurants. About 2/3 miles maybe further down the coast is a Roman ruins which is on the cliff edge. Of course it was a few years ago now and areas get ravished by tourism. I have no idea about the golf clubs but there are plenty there.

My dear Appy, your team did it!! Congrats on a job well done. I am the only one in my family who supported India, the others were still annoyed that India took us out of the tournament. SOUR grapes!! Cheers

Found these while trying to get the origins of 'Spring has sprung'...

The wind riz
And then it blew,
The rain friz
And then it snew.
Spring has sprung,
The grass has riz.
I wonder where
The flowers is.
Spring has sprung,
Fall has fell,
Winter's here
And it's More...

Remember Bronte brunch Sydney Sudokuists - Sunday 21st October around 10.30 or 11ish. Meet in Brotne Road. Ian, now you are back can you suggest a meeting place?

Sorry - Bronte Road! Too early in the morning! Finger fumbles!

Chris - congratulations! Half a marathon is quite an accomplishment. Many years ago, I ran 5 to 10 miles a day (every day) until I nearly blew my knees out! I've found that this is not a rarity among women runners. So now I play tennis and ride my bike which I really enjoy, but I do miss that "runner's high"!

Well done Chris, the longest run I have done in recent years (and we are talking a long, long time ago)was a Hyde Park fun run it was 2 1/2 miler fun run right after coming back off holiday and that nearly killed me (I blame the jet lag on that one). I used to cross country when I was fit and in my teens... but my knees are still good, its just the body that has crumpled!!

Unfortunately, the furthest I've been from home lately is down to the stupormarket, so if you'd like to see a piccy of that, I'll see what I can do!
