Hi, everyone a beautiful day here. The painter is almost finished with the outside of the house. Then he has a couple of small jobs to do inside. Will be glad when he is done and I can finish decorating for Christmas.

Rayray, loved your poem. Too much sadness for today. Here's my take on the picture -- but you know, I tried to be upbeat and it just didn't work too well.

Kudos to both Rayray and Linda M on speaking words that this wonderful picture evoked in them and dare I say, many others. Super perception. Great job!

Linda M:
Strange how people sometimes reach different conclusions. I had the idea that despite all his hard work things remained the same as they always were - hard toil with no effect.

Apologies to those who dislike typos....Its not always the fingers affected by stiffness, but keyboards to seem to succumb to a stiffness of their own....*otheres=others, and spaces between many words...yet it is readable...although not pretty. Peace!

Not sure this makes a whole lot of sense, but this is what today's wonderful picture evoked from me.

The pain, though real
Upon his face
He carries well
He bears with grace.

He feels no pangs
Though he's not eaten.
His quest for justice
abides unbeaten.

In answer to Eve's game:
1. When you were a child (under 11) what did you want to be when you grew up? Teacher or ballerina

Please, don't start in on typos! My new LCD computer screen is harder to read than my old CRT, so it's difficult to proofread. Also (and this is much more important), it has slowed my puzzle-solving time significantly! I can't read the numbers as easily! It seems I had better definition before. More...

Ok, everybody, here's a new game:

Everybody write a horoscope for their sign. Since I'm a Virgo, I'll start off with one:

VIRGO - Today is a good day to take a walk 1) on a beach; 2) in a park; or 3) around a shopping mall. In any case, don't carry cash because 1) you might fall in; 2) you might get mugged; or 3) you might be tempted to spend it.

Gemini- Today will be one where everything is doubled...work, effort and rewards. Be sure to greet all with a smile and tonight you will be enjoying life with friends and family. Money,if you have any will be well invested today, or well spent by tomorrow.

Judy - I don't know your age, but since you also aspired to be a cowgirl when you were a child, I suspect you might be somewhere near my age and thus feel compelled to tell you this. When I was little, a big deal was being made about the fact that Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were adopting children, More...

Speaking of Westerns, does anyone remember a series called the Cimarron Kid? The local Moose Club ran this "mini-series" on Saturday afternoons, and I didn't miss an episode!

BTW: You also see the same "character lines" in the faces of portraits of "Native Americans", "Eskimos" and "Aboriginal People". All had tough lives, but a pride that is well deserved.

Judy - just reread your responses to Eve's "whaddaya wannabe" game, and afer reading your #5, am trying to visualize a s#xy sixty-year old "running around in chaps, moccasins, no shirt, and a coonskin hat". Not a very pretty picture, I'm afraid.
28/Nov/07 7:42 AM

Eve - you're absolutely right. And it's a crime the way the movies treated Native Americans years ago. As you may know, "Tonto" meant "Stupid" in Spanish.
