Shannon, don't you have waterslides in the Rockies?
Actually, it's raining so heavily outside, I could just use my driveway as a waterslide. It's steep. It's downhill. You just need to watch out for the sudden stop at the bottom. Garage doors are very unforgiving.

Oh Victoria, doesn't that mean your garage to get flooded? Or is the water diverted else where?

Actually Victoria, I wish we did. Water is a very precious commodity in Colorado (you wouldn't believe some of the wacky water use laws we have), so send some of that rain here, please. There's a waterslide park in the Denver metro area, but in the mtn's we have "alpine slides" - it's a More...

Shosho, we have a drain outside the garage which takes the water away.
When our area had a really bad storm nearly 2 years ago, I was standing in the garage while the men were trying to cover the car which we couldn't get fully under cover. The rain was so heavy that the drain couldn't work and suddenly I was up to my ankles in freezing cold water. We left the car and shut the garage door.

Shannon, in Australia we understand water restrictions. Until recently Brisbane was under very severe water restrictions. Our dam level fell to around 16% as we hadn't had decent rain for about 5 years. Our dams are now at 95% capacity but we still have water restrictions. A lot of homes now have water tanks installed - it's mandatory for new homes.

Bye all! It's time for this little black duck to get ready for work. Unlike CP I can't sit around in my jammies all day.

everyone,
The home health nurse was here this morning. Harry was tired after her 2 hour visit, so much paper work has to be done.

Had company most of the afternoon. Harry was awake for about an hour, that was all he could handle.

BTW I don't know what FFS Phantom refers to, but the one I know can't be repeated here!

HI all. Have finally found the California of every brochure. Spent a lovely day discovering the coast around here and found some little gems, like Avila beach to savour - so pretty in the sun with the huge blue ocean in front. This is the life - wouldn't mind moving a couple of my sofas here.

FFS was, I think, coined by Shosho a few weeks back (well it was someone who usually makes it on to the first page) and means "fat finger syndrome" as an excuse for all the typos that happen to us. Gotta go, catch you later - and no, I do not have my jammies on, I am decently dressed in a very fetching outfit!

Grasshopper, I am displeased - a big storm is not a good enough excuse for missing a riddle - you actually had us worried. I'll dock a day of your wages for that.

got to experience my Hospital's late night ER -- youngest son dislocated his toe - in the middle of the night - -children - gotta love 'em, He is doing better but needs the toe taped. He was at a sleep over when I got the call, at first, thought it was just a jammed toe but the pointing on the toe opposite of the others. Interesting to see how the MD fixed it. And then a very busy day at work.

Even though I wouldn't have tried Fiona's puzzle today....
80 mph storms went through our area this weekend while we were away at my nephew's wedding in Iowa. It completely leveled one of our 30 year old maple trees at the end of our driveway turn-around. Several large limbs also came down from More...

Wedding was beautiful ... and as with any wedding, things happen that you don't plan for. During the wedding ceremony the two little flower girls decided to PICK UP all the flower petals they had just spread! They were completely oblivious to the ceremony! They looked like two little birds eating birdseed under a bird feeder!! Soooo funny!

When one of my nieces was married she had her 13 nieces and nephews in the wedding party. They processed in before her. The oldest great-niece & nephew (12 & 13 years old) carried the youngest ones (under 1).
My niece is a very brave young woman and the great nieces and nephews all behaved beautifully.

I don't think I coined the FFS phrase because I haven't the foggiest idea still of what it means. I do remember asking about woot woot. But as for the FFS how about "fickle finger syndrome", "ferret face shape", "funny false sincerity", "fairly fast symphony"

A photo from my home town! The Chinese have a long history in Bendigo, dating back to the gold rushes of the 1850's. They play a very important role in the annual Easter Fair. www.goldendragonmuseum.org
