So Sorry Keith - I didn't mean anything by my CAPS letters. At work, we type everything in CAPS. Please forgive me if I offended anyone.
Sorry.

Happy Birthday, GannieMo! And welcome to the S*xy Sixties!
 |  |
Robin: you have offended no one. Hope the German lesson went well.
If I am around, and you need help with Spanish, I'll be more than happy to help.
 |  |
Hey Judy!
 |  |
Corky, Now I'm confused, should I teach my niece the way your translator says, or should we go by the Silent Night version you had me go to on the web site???? The instructions on her homework, were to translate and pronounce. The assignment is due on Wednesday, I hope we all get an A.
 |  |
Mamacita & Rosemary, thanks for the welcome back. And Happy 60th to GannieMo. Best wishes to all the other birthdays and happy events I missed. Right now I am reading 'Saturday' by Ian McEwan. It is a slow start, but need to finish it by my bookclub tomorrow. I'm not ready to recommend it yet, will let you know tomorrow. Has anyone else read it?
 |  |
Nal, actually, I will be taking Conversational Spanish in January. I am a Nurse working in a Surgeons office, we have a large amount of Spanish speaking patients, and no one to translate, so, I will be the one to do so. Thank you for offering to help. I may need it.
 |  |
Susan/Calgary - yes, I've read it. McEwan is my favourite author, so I am biased...
 |  |
Dick - Thanks for your input. I grew up in Germany (a little town called Mastershausen) I have been in the states for 23 years, and of course, Here I don't use my German skills very often, so, of course, I have lost them. Thanks again, everyone has been so helpful.

hihihihihihihih

To Billy/Perth, I guess you liked it then... that's good to know. I'll go read & check in tomorrow.
 |  |
Robin, I will be more than happy to help!!!
Besides, at my age I am well versed in all the maladies in both, English and Spanish.

Everyone!

Please; be kind to everyone.

Deb/Brisbane - are you feeling better?
 |  |
Robin; what I translated is more or less the strict translation of the words in the song.
The Silent Night version on the web site is a translation from the German (loosely, to scan as rhyming poem)
I'm afraid it's up to you or your niece to decide which the school requires.

Well, the BIG day has arrived and later on my special guests.

HAPPY 60th BIRTHDAY GANNIEMO. I hope I can help make your day wonderful for you.
Safe trip.

Corky - Thanks again, I believe we will go with both, My niece would like to keep it interesting for her teacher. Mind you, this is a 10 year old little girl, who has the mind of a 21 year old. It's amazing how fast they grow up. I will let you know what her grade turns out to be.

Robin, I have to ask. Have you just had a birthday?

GannieMo, happy birthday!!!!! I would like to echo Deb's birthday wish for you, that our government allows you to stay in Australia with your family. I'd be more than happy to write such a letter.
 |  |
Nal - Thanks. I'll keep you in mind.
 |  |
Hello Billy - weather much the same, very overcast but not cold. I'm just on my way out to meet some distant relative on my in-laws side and have morning tea. All these people I'm meeting this weekend, it's great.
 |  |
Susan - Yes, October 10th - why do you ask?
 |  |
We were talking here the other day about how long the site has been going, and when we first started posting. I mentioned that the first time I ever played (early Oct '05)then read the comments, everyone was posting 'happy birthday to Robin in Michigan' and I was wondering who the famous person was. Now a couple of days later you show up again after so long. That's eerie.
 |  |
Susan - That is eerie. Yes, it's been awhile since I've visited the site. I was having a lot of computer problems. I now have a new computer at home, so, I can start visiting once again. Good memory Susan. I do remember that day. It was nice to get all those Happy Birthdays.
 |  |
Robin, can you refresh my memory. Who were some of the regulars that you remember? I have to go now, paperwork calls, but will check back later.
 |  |
Susan from Ingham - I believe Corky from Ireland and Billy from Perth, also Susan from Calgary are names I remember from before, there are many that I don't recognize now. I'm just amazed that this site is still going. I love it. This is a great way to meet people from all over the world. And, friendly people at that.

Happy 60th, Gannie Mo! I found the 60's to be great, and wish the same for you.

Question: When was the Outlander discussion? I'm just reading it and would like to check the archives and read comments about it.
 |  |
I am feeling much better thank you CP. Still have pains in the stomach though but not having to have a bucket next to the loo is nice...lol
 |  |
Hey Jim from Darwen UK...a border collie named Maggie!!! What a coincidence! My Maggie is 4 in December and I have had her only 2 months. What a joy she is... ...

Maen everyone. I'm just back from a wonderful week in Perth so am trying to catch up.
GannieMo: Happy 60th! Hope you are enjoying your holiday in Australia.
Deb/Brisbane: So sorry to hear that you haven't been well.
Susan/Calgary: Yes, I've read 'Saturday' too. Loved it and was filled More...

I am so tired tonight. I was up until 4:30
am sewing an Ariel costume so we could go to Boo at the Zoo today. Ashley was so excited! 'I'm a mermaid!' Amber was the cutest little Tinkerbelle there. I am going to take full advantage of the changeover from Daylight Savings Time tonight! Pictures were taken and will be submitted on the parent's page, pending Mom and Dad's approval.
 |  |
Jan/ Ga., You'll find the Outlander discussion on the parent's page on Oct 14th 0r 15th. I'd be interested in your comments too. They can still be added I think. Deb/Brissie, just want to add my voice to those who are glad to see that you are getting better. Hope you will soon be completely recovered.
