Cookie Monster! Woohoo! My family and I raced sailboats over a couple of decades and every one of our sailboats were named Cookie Monster! It started with our first boat, a Shock 24. My hubby and I argued over what we would name it.
03/Nov/12 1:21 AM
 |  |

He wanted Shock Treatment and I preferred Pau Hana or Esprit. Neither would give in to the other. Finally my 5 yo son popped up with Cookie Monster which of course came from his favorite Sesame Street program. We looked at each other and said okay.

We got quite a reputation with that boat so when we bought the next boat, a Santa Cruz 27, we named it Cookie Monster. Then came the last Cookie, Martin 242, (CG, it's a Canadian race boat!) That one gave us the most winning trophies and was sold to my son's in-laws. They were fellow competitors but we didn't think that they would be fellow in-laws!

Happy Friday!
As some of you know, my mom has been in the hospital for the last few days with low heart rate.
One of her meds may have been the culprit, so it was changed.
She was transferred out of CCU last night and may be discharged back to her Board-and-Care facility today!
Thank you for your prayers and good thoughts!

Hi HalT, Have you cast all your cares away?
03/Nov/12 3:28 AM
 |  |

happy days, Aileen! Aren't you glad that something as simple as changing meds solves the problem (it doesn't help to think that the one med given could do that, but doctors are humans as well, and sometimes the drug interactions aren't known or that combination given is not common.)
03/Nov/12 3:30 AM
 |  |

We've had that problem with my mom but usually the staff notices the difference before it goes very far. As she gets older and progresses further into Alzheimers, she needs changes in her meds as her condition changes. Most of the times the changes are fine but sometimes combinations causes a downfall of health or behavior. Thank heavens the nurses are quick to detect that!
