Oops, I hope that didn't sound rude! If you're on this site, you are a friend!!!!
Little Legend sure is a cutie, couldn't ignore him if you tried!
I'm sitting at the Honda dealer, waiting to spend several hundred dollars to fix whatever it was that caused my "check engine" light to come on.

Hi, Linda! How's things in my old stomping grounds?

Linda M,

I am going to guess you have a dirty EGR valve!

Let me know!

Linda - Often that stupid light comes on for no discernible reason. My "check engine" light has been on for 3 years, and no one can figure out why. Of course, I haven't taken it to a Saturn dealer because there aren't any nearby, so maybe they could solve the mystery. But then again, More...

Buy another one that will last 16 years, Jane, to assure that you will be around that long to drive it!

The guy said it was something with the spark plug and wires and a whole pack of them (??? I didn't really pay attention!!) have to be replaced. Something like that. Kathy in MD, things are fine here in central Ohio. Rain yesterday and today, nothing major going on!

Pay attention to me, not the keyboard!

Linda:

That light, as Jane says, frequently is meanlingless. If your oil pressure and temperature are OK, I would ignore it...but it's not my car we're talking about, of course.

It might mean that an oxygen sensor ($300) needs to be replaced, or the catalytic converter or More...

Ian, a year or two ago the light came on and it was due to the catalytic converter but I just had them turn off the light. No such luck this time, the car was shaking like it was about to stall. I love the Honda brand but this van is getting a little old, over 10 years. I'm ready to trade up to something a few yrs newer.

Because those warning lights often go on for no real reason, a couple of local mechanics are advertising that they will check them for free. It's always bugged me that a computer (paid for by the car owner) is put in the car for the convenience of the mechanic; yet, they charge the owner to use the computer to make their diagnosis.

Ok, enough goofing off. I'm going back to sanding some file cabinets so I can repaint them...

Keith, why are we supposed to be paying attention to you and not the keyboard? Someone seems a little needy.....

Linda, if you are going to trade the car in before its next inspection, you will never get back the money you put into repairing whatever is causing that light to go on. Might make more sense.

Achoo, Kathy! What a horrific job, cleaning a fireplace. Perhaps a glass of wine will wash down any dust you might have inadvertently inhaled?
Just discovered some dirty so-and-so has somehow made off with the lantern on our front walk, leaving us the pole and two exposed wires. What the heck?

My Check Engine light's been on for several years (O2 sensor), but it finally went out--guess the bulb finally blew!

Excellent suggestion, Cathy! I am leaving the layer of dust until tomorrow, but the wine will be fine before I dine...
Some jerk was doing mid-night Christmas shopping?

A man wakes up in the hospital bandaged from head to foot. The doctor comes in and says, "Ah, I see you've regained consciousness. Now you probably won't remember, but you were in a huge pile-up on the freeway. You're going to be ok, you'll walk again and More...

I don't get that lovely smell wafting out of my computer that I used to! Are you on a caffeine free diet?

Cathy, think on the bright side.... you have helped bring light to someone's life. We had someone here two years ago that dug out five ornamental shrubs overnight. Nothing is sacred.

Morning. My car has a servicing reminder that shows how long to the next service (from about 1000km out). However, it also functions if you've not gone in for the service. At the moment, I get beeped every time I start the car because according to it, the service is 2600 km overdue. But it's not - they just forgot to reset that thing at the service about 2700 km ago!!!!

I don't have it serviced at the appropriate dealership so that makes it harder. Did get my guys to seek out the appropriate information - it's funny to read. Something like - press X button, start engine, press Y button twice. Restart engine...... Seems a bit like - put your left foot in, your right foot out, left foot in and shake it all about!

Glenn posted a link to this display a few years ago - and I just assumed it was in the USA, due to style of house mostly. Saw the guy who does this on the news this morning, they were showing Music Box Dancer as the current display, but the first link shows that as being from last year. I can't More...

The first year I showed the clip to my youngest grandson, he was scared of the music. Took hhim a few days, and then he came back and asked to see it a few times more (but he had to sit on my lap so he was safe!).

I love those lights, CP. Have seen them before to different music. My hubby wants to set our lights to music but, so far, I have been able to dissuade him. (I won't show him the clip.)

Warm and breezy here in Southeast Florida!!!! Too rainy, though, to put up more Christmas lights on my palm trees
I like today's photo, BTW: The dog is in focus, is named, shows doggish character in a unique setting. 4 out of 5 stars

My 1989 Dodge has more than 200th. miles. How much more I don't know. The odometer quit two years ago. The speedometer still works, so my mechanic says forget it. I had the brakes replaced about three years ago and every thing else works fine. I guess you should buy 3/4 ton trucks if you want them to last. ( This is the third one I bought. Starting in 1966.)
