Got down to 32 deg.F (0 C.) here last night, but our yard doesn't look too bad - yet! We're expecting a few more cold nights here, too. Rob covered up the most fragile plants. My biggest concern is my plumerias - I would hate to lose them. Sorry about your impatiens, Jane.

Gee, never saw snow in LA! Had to travel a couple of hours to get to the snow in the mountains nearby. I can see the San Gabriel Mountain range with a sprinkling of snow on top but that's it.

Well am going to be busy today. Have to grade two piles of science essays on the desert habitat. I have one more week before I face my little darlings!

The storms are all around us, but we've only got a dusting of snow. Freezing out though. Hubby passed along a case of the sniffles to me, his spirit of holiday generosity continuing. So I'll hunker down with plenty of liquids, a trio of cats and try to soldier on. Saw three movies well worth the price of admission: Invictus, Sherlock Holmes, and It's Complicated.

I can't complain about my weather. It is chilly, but not cold, drizzle on and off, we need all we can get. It's winter ... it's supposed to be like that.

The last of the family (granddaughter) left this morning. We had to have her at the airport at 4:15 AM. I came home and went back to bed The rest (son, DIL, grandson and dogs) left yesterday morning to drive back to Texas. It sure is More...

BTW:I was down south working on the La Cañada Flintridge float again this year.

Scissored Wizard won the Fantasy trophy.

Updated U-Tube of the float coverage as shown on 3 different stations in LA area. Hope you enjoy it. Wish they would have gotten a good photo of the Wizard's face. I will add some of the photos to my gallery later; for now just the rendering is there.

Some old voices re-surfacing (hi Denny, and nice to see you back Fiona) and new voices being heard from (welcome Thyra).

I hope everyone here recognizes that Adam and Eve had an ideal marriage.
He didn't have to hear about all the men she could have married, and she didn't have to hear about the way his mother cooked.

Many Aussies on holidays at the moment (it is our summer break, the long one), and many go away for vacations to the beach etc after Christmas and New Year. May be that's why they're not here!

They could be like me - I slept in a bit! Left my bed at 0800 since I don't have to work today.

Got a happy tummy - made banana pancakes for breakfast. Needed the macadamia sauce we used to have with them at Boots and Kimo's in Kailua, Oahu - but not too bad at all!
