OK one more "rant" and I'll go away...
I was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. I said I did. She said “Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!” To which I said “Of course it is loaded, it can't work without bullets!” She then asked, “Are you that afraid of More...

Kathy - great idea! But traveling on the 4th can be a bit daunting. Perhaps Eve can keep us posted on other upcoming clothing-optional events in Ashland. Depending on the number of Sudokuists, maybe we can even set up a reviewing stand (assuming, of course, that we plan to be reviewers and not reviewees).

A man returning home a day early from a business trip, got into a taxi at the airport after midnight. While en route to his home, he asked the cabby if he would be a witness. The man suspected his wife was having an affair, and expected to catch her in the act. For $100, the cabby agreed to be a More...

I was going to join in some of the soapbox rhetoric but as I pondered exactly how to word my ideas, they became less and less interesting. They, therefore, have fallen into a moribund state of ennui. Please, someone, don't let the saga of the "Pastie Lady" and the locked and loaded household, of which we are one, die of inertia.

Ashland is a beautful town - first town you get to in Oregon on I-5 coming from California. It is renown for the Oregon Shakesperian Festival. The Elizabethian Theater & Lithia Park along Ashland Creek are "historic" and beautiful.

When I moved from California, I chose More...

One of the reasons I chose Ray Charles version of "America the Beautiful" for my U-tube was that he began it with the third verse. Most of Americans know the first verse & seldom have heard the other verses. I knew there were 3 or 4 verses, There are actually 8 verses.

It depends on my audience, Kathy. I am an extremly unrealistic critic of my own thought processes. If I can't get it past my red pencil, it doesn't go. Once in a wile (sp!) an involentary keyboard casualty occurs, but that is entirely native to the species. On rare occasions, something untoward More...

Jerry - It was a funny coincidence when you wrote that about an unloaded gun... I just finished cleaning a few handguns before I go to my carry permit class tomorrow morning! This Grass-hopper is learning many things:-
1. Don't let my cats onto the first page - the budgies here are Texas sized!
2. There is a 'pastie lady' in Ashland. (my imagination had her selling hot english pasties until I read further)
3. If you throw Jerry a surprise party wear a flack jacket!

Hey, I saw my very first small rural town 4th of July parade!
