My nickname is Turkey and I would get mad and turn red too if you turned a fire hose on me. Needless to say I can't eat turkey meat because it would be too much like cannibalism.

Theresa, they didn't get mad at the fire hose - I don't have one. They got mad at the cool water in the kiddie pool. For self-preservation if I ever had to wash a turkey again I'd seriously consider the fire hose, that or I'll take better care to warm the water for the prima donnas.

My daughter 'Faun' calls herself a turkey because her birthday falls around Thanksgiving in late November.

PLUM So Sorry you have so much work to do. I am reclining beside my swimming pool with my laptop and a handsome young man just brought me a maitai on a silver tray. Forget the chores and come and join me in sunny Florida.

Plum is evidently the owner of a chicken and turkey spa. What a retreat! Facials pedi's included! Her well kept fowl must be 'poultry in motion'!

Hi all. I have just learned way more than I ever wanted about washing poultry. I thought giving my kitty a bath was difficult! I spell candy with two letters alll the time - M&M...with peanuts of course. I'm more a salt person than a sweet person...be nice with that Phantom!

The answer is not m&m's!!! A lot of not-so-grade schoolers in Sudokuland. Only one correct answer, so far......
on, people!

Awww, we're all on summer vacation...no more pencils, no more books, no more teacher's dirty looks...and that turkey above is certainly giving a dirty look!

This whole poultry washing reminds me of my first time cooking a turkey. Newly married, neither of us had ever spent any time in the kitchen, and living a few states away from family. So I call to ask my mom about another dish and she asks me about the turkey. I figured you throw it in the oven More...

The first time I ever had to deal with the entire Thanksgiving dinner was when I was about 17. My mother was in bed with a nasty case of the flu.
Making the gravy was my downfall. My dad and brother were also clueless, so I trudged up the stairs, pen and paper in hand, propped the poor woman More...

The first time my mother taught me to cook dinner was when she was painting my brothers' room. She'd give me one set of directions and when I finished that I would run to the bedroom to get another set of directions! It came out rather well and did I get a workout running between the kitchen and my brothers' bedroom!

My cat rather likes a warm bather! She'll sit still while I scrub her in her own bubble bath. It's the drying process that she's not crazy about. And will sit in the sun glaring at me. The hair dryer is something to be feared for her. She goes hysterical over the noise.

Great stories. Kudos Kathy, I still don't make my own gravy. Did I mention the turkey had already been in the oven 20 minutes or so when she told me this?
Shosho I need to know your trick then, because Boris hates baths. Of course right now he just hates me period. He's a long hair More...

I've always thought that it was a nano nap. i.e. a very short nap. How can we males of the species have nanna naps. however when I think how long mine are, I doubt whether nano is an appropriate description. I vote for siesta as it gives it an exotic Iberian flavour.

oh saylz, what would be the point of a nano nap, lol? I've never heard it called a nanna nap myself, I'll go in with you on the siesta idea. Amelia, we'll be out again tomorrow - I'll save you a spot, but it's been cool so bring a wrap or blankie - we'll toast to Ella's big life adventure ahead of her.

I don't know where cat naps came from. We can go to work in the morning and ours are settled under the heat pump. When we come home from work they are still there. That's an all day nap.
