Morning all. Unusually gray, damp, mid-50's morning here in Denver. I miss those 'gray, light rain all day' Midwest type of days. And Shosho has taught me a new word today - had to look up steatopygic. Surprised the definition was in words and not just a series of pictures

2:34 to you all from sunny and warm Portland, Oregon.

Stay hydrated and healthy, all of you sweltering in the heat wave.

Good Afternoon everyone. At first, I thought these were cacti!

Sue, I wonder if we will get some of that rain?!?! After this heat, we could really use it! The yards are starting to "burn up!"

Good afternoon to all! Thanks for that photo Coleen. With heat we have here in Ottawa, everything may soon look like that around here!

Well, our heat wave continues as well. Mid 40's here. The heat and humidity is so bad that the RCMP have cancelled their Musical Ride performances for the next three days. It's good to know someone care about the horses and their riders.

Back from my bike ride and getting ready to settle in to watch Germany vs. Spain. I am really going to miss World Cup! I'm even starting to warm up to the vuvuzelas. Well, not really. In fact, I'm fearful that they're going to show up at other soccer/football matches outside South Africa. More...

It's still a very gray day here and only 62*F, the yard is very appreciative. All ready for the game. I can't believe those horns are even louder than they sound on tv.

When one is a Census Enumerator, it sure is a good thing to like people. A lot. I wish I had kept a little diary of the fine people I had met. It couldn't/wouldn't include personal information, but just entries like "I met an old couple today that reminded me of T___ & C____. I think this More...

Too hot to exercise here--I'm packing it in for the day and heading to the air-conditioned bedroom to read for the rest of the afternoon. Stay cool, everyone.

Good mAen, world.
Rainy day here in East Texas. It is only about 79 degrees on the front porch, mostly overcast and raining all day. I woke up to thunder this morning. Since Silsbee is a railroad town, I first thought it was train cars bumping but soon realized it was really thunder.

Well that was an uninspiring first half...

Back from running around town, and am just semi-melted. It's holding at 97° this afternoon. Better than the 101° yesterday, I suppose. Still a scorcher, though!

Good Morning all!
It seems no-one posted the result of last nights State of Origin final.
QUEENSLAND WON!!!!!!!
Maroon magic prevailed and after being down 18-13 they won with two quick tries inside the last 10 minutes and beat the blues 23-18.
It was a worthy effort from a wonderful team.

Way to go Spain. The final should be a coin toss, but I'm thinking the Netherlands might do it Jane. Either way, they both deserve the World Cup.

Well, since we're doing a theme brunch for the final...tapas is more appealing than beer and bratwurst. But can anyone tell me (besides Dutch Apple Pancakes)Dutch brunch dishes?
hmmm Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore...you wouldn't believe how black the sky is out my window

Shannon, you need to ask Rolanda about Dutch cooking. She's our resident little Dutch Girl - even if she is an Aussie.

Shannon - there's a recipe for Dutch pancakes on page 17 of the Sudokudos Cookbook. Go to my page and click on the cookbook link.

I'll bring some sangría and gazpacho, Shannon. What time are you serving brunch?
