I'm thinking of Doris Wilding (or was it Wildman), the Australian feminist and activist who spoke out on behalf of aboriginals, gender equality and women's right (most notably unwed or sole supporting mothers). I have forgotten all the things I read about her, but maybe the Aussies can fill in some details.

I've been spending much of my spare time the past couple of days reading Agassi's autobiography. I've always liked him, but I'm getting very mixed feelings about him now.....Maybe I should have just continued to live in my little dream world!!!

Regarding the cookies, Kathy: there must be an awful lot of Americans who don't eat cookies, because I think Jaime alone consumes his allotted share (35,000) in a single year!

My family upped their allotment of cookies over the holidays.

I have made a version of them, Judy, but these were Nestle Toll House Ultimate Filled Cookies (chocolate chip cookies with caramel filling)

Actually, that's a lie. I would never have met Jaime in a supermarket because he spent his entire bachelorhood in the Stouffer's TV dinner section.

...and I'm a "cook-from-scratch" sort of person.

But speaking of chillin', we've been doing a lot of THAT lately! We had a slight reprieve from the cold weather yesterday and today, but tonight it's supposed to dip down to the 20s again. Aaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhh!

We had a couple inches of snow last night which started to melt off this afternoon. Now it's all frozen again and the driveway is a sheet of ice.

Hey, I've got nothing against store-bought cookies! But my favorite cookies are the home-made ones that people give you as gifts!!!

One of our good friends always gives us yummy homemade cookies at Christmas time. Jaime quickly empties the tin, washes it and returns it....hoping it will be refilled again! (It usually is)! That's where I got the recipe for the chocolate chip spice cookies (which I've put in the Sudoku cookbook and on the Recipes page). They are really, really, really good!!!

I'll have to try those, Jane. Thanks for all your efforts on the cookbook, I have used many of the recipes and they've all been good.
Now I have to go find something for dinner. I was supposed to play cards tonight, but the icy conditions made us cancel.
