I agree - what is the point in 'time' anyway - apart from a record of how you are possibly improving. 7:08 No guessing, just simple elimination by logic. The only ones that really hang me up any more are tough, and I've gotten it to the point where I only guess at one or two spots. If you know 2 boxes within a box must have 1 of 2 numbers, then no other boxes within the box can have those same 2 numbers.

i am a moron compared to everyone else. my timer must go faster than the speed of sound. i can't get close to the times that are posted.

12:25, using the available tools. and if they were cheats, they wouldn't be available. I like the times as a nice yardstick to see if I'm improving. If others are faster - bully for them!

I think that's pretty good for me. Wonder if I can do better tomorrow? Had to do the one from the paper last week about 4 times before I got it right so I must be thinking straight today.

Have recently discovered the delights of sudoku...getting faster by the day, but also more addicted!

I must be getting better. Every one just falls into place. I hate to do the tough because I just get stuck, and I like to 'prove' each item before I enter it.

Thanks to practice on the hard and tough - I now work the easy and medium with pencil and paper - I am greatly improved - and good for you with the great times - when you are 59 it is greatly encouraging to see the mind can still learn and apply logic to these problems.

Love the site, times are getting better but I cant get close too a lot of the times posted, yet! I would love to know where the pictures are from. If they were labelled as to area & country it would be more interesting & as you ask for pics to be sent in they could be from anywhere in the world. Great site keep it up.

where's the timer?

The timer is to the left of the photo. When I use the timer I don't enjoy myself as much - I like to have the puzzle on my screen and come back to it during my work day when I need a break. That way it's meditative rather than competitive.

I have only played Sudoku a couple of times, I found the timer and tried the hard one, 19:00 mins even. This is very addictive.

First time using the timer scored better than I thought. Don't really care how long it takes it's just a game. Enjoy the feeling of solving the puzzle. By the way love the log cabins.
