Beautiful old church.

It looks like Maine is getting snow on Monday. Right now the temperature 18ºF (-8ºC) with a wind chill of 5ºF. Brrrrrr!!

There are scenes like this all up and down the Rhine River. It is an amazing area with churches, castles and picturesque little villages. A river cruise is the way to go!

Visiting the German Christmas markets is a big thing from the UK. Stay somewhere in the Moselle valley and visit Cologne, Koblenz or any of the other Rhineland cities and add in a Rhine trip to see sights like today's picture. Drink gluwein, eat hot roast chestnuts and Bratwurst. You almost forget it is Winter.

I returned at the end of October from a river cruise on the Danube and Rhine and would recommend it to anyone

Roger - you make me want to take a Rhine Cruise at this time of year. However, my mother did that 2 years ago, fell (again) - leaving the ship & another break. I know I'm a clutz, she wasn't until lately (86). It does sound wonderful.
