Great photo Kate. It occurs to me that while we have lots of photos of Rainbow Lorikeets appearing on these pages, we have very few photos of any of the other lovely parrots that frequent our bush - Eastern Rosellas, Crimson Rosellas, King Parrots are a few that come to mind.

There have been a couple of Kings but not for quite a while. The others are a lot more timid. The lorikeets like an audience & the kookaburras don't fuss! Don't forget your great Tawny frogmouths, Ian! Gail has some wonderful King parrot photos that I've seen on her page, but maybe not as puzzles.

Thanks for the appreciation, folks. And the water is a bit of the mighty Hawkesbury River not far from where it opens into Broken Bay before it gets to the Pacific Ocean. Closest town is Brooklyn. You just have to feed lorikeets to photograph them Canuk Greg! They are show-off scuppergutses. And so ubiquitous that even Coles supermarkets sells lorikeet food. There's two lorikeets on Schultz' web-page here: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~crocomut/AboutMyHome.htm

Ian, I would happily take up your challenge if I could afford a nice camera with a telephoto lens. I might, however, be able to catch the magpie that steals the dog's food. We get lots of rosellas around here, too.

dino, I understand. I was just stirring the pot a little to see what drifted to the top. The truth is that I would really like to take a few good photos of these wonderful birds but they are not easy to capture (on photo). One day - in the meantime perhaps others might have some photos they could show.

Hello all - Ian, I took a photo of two 28 parrots on Sunday at the Stirling Ranges but the cheeky little blighters flew off and I only managed one photo of them.
