We are having another fantastic day here in Florida! Sunny. Mild temps. Gentle breeze. Truly Chamber of Commerce weather!

Who's kitchen window is that beautiful lily pond under?

Not mine, Anne. I'd have a herd of mosquitos.
 |  |
Good morning to all! Slow on this one, but a nice reward with that picture. That cat looking at the fish seems to be very hungry!
 |  |
Nice gold fish

Maen all

 |  |
He's catnapping at the moment but with one eye open ready to pounce!!

good 1 Anne

Nice view from someone's window, but it isn't mine. And speaking of cats, my eldest, an ocicat, is celebrating his twelfth birthday today. He's my gentle peacenik, and wouldn't harm any of those goldfish in that pond.
 |  |
again i feel i have played this before!!! enjoying pictures.
 |  |
I might even wash dishes if I had that view!
 |  |
Nice day in Florida but need some rain. Have a good day.

9:33 well spent to see the beautiful Koi pond. Greg, did you mean the black cat on the rock or the white one on the tree? I did 'cat'ch myself going back for another look.

Shurti from CA: Those look small for Koi, so I assumed they were goldfish. I've never seen a Koi pond, just had it described by writers, of late Johnaton Kellerman. Is keeping a Koi pond a common practice in California?
 |  |
I think you're all nuts....no matter how many times I look I don't see a cat.....you're yanking my chain.
 |  |
Definitely a cat!
 |  |
Not my window either, but a lovely outlook!
 |  |
There is clearly a cat here stalking those koi.
 |  |
Here in South Florida we call Koi Ponds 'Blue Heron feeding stations'
 |  |
Yes, there are many beautiful homes with Koi ponds in the Bay Area, where I am based. Alas, none of those homes is mine.

8.13 slow slow
must need breakfast
have a great day/night one and all

I'm about 70 miles from the ocean, and we had a problem for a while with a pelican. Apparently he was going from house to house feeding on our Koi. It suddenly stopped. I wonder who took care of the problem, because you can't shoot birds in the city limits... what's more, wonder what they did with him?

And the mosquitos aren't bad if you run the filter for a few hours a day...
 |  |
mosquitos like stagnant water, not running water, to lay their eggs.

Cathy ~ I can understand why you are confused. You just didn't realize they are talking about CATfish. :-)
 |  |
Cathy: When I first started doing soduko I, like you, was confused about the frequent reference to cats in pictures where I saw none. But (and I'll probably get in trouble for this) I finally realized that 'Anne from Albany, W Australia' has a thing about cats. She can see cats everywhere. I seem More...
 |  |
Sheesh! Did I really do that? I know it's sudoku, not soduko!?!
 |  |
Hello HalT - the reason for the mention of cats so much is because there were so many photos of them each night, that when there wasn't one, we just made them up for the fun of it, and yes, it has caught on. I haven't really got a 'thing' about cats, it was just all in good fun. I must admit I'm More...
 |  |
Tell me thats not a kitten in the upper right hand corner just up from the flagstone and below the bushes. Or a fuzzy Rock. Also, if the flowers are 4 inches across, then the fish have to be bigger than 12 inches. Therefore Koi.
 |  |
Hi Anne - I had a feeling I might be in trouble. I know you were not the only one who often mentioned cats (see Don From MI above), but you have the most colorful (oops, I left out a 'u') way of pointing them out. No put-down intended. The frequent reference to the non-existant little critters is actually quite amusing.
 |  |
Will we had the same problen with a Kookaburra stealing our fish, but he also is gone now! The fish eat the mosquito lava I think.
 |  |
HalT - I realise it wasn't a put-down. Absolutely no offence taken. I just enjoy the little joke and it's blossomed. If I can help to amuse people, that's great, I'll keep doing it.
If some other people get annoyed with it, I'll still keep doing it!!! Anne's jokes!!

If your pond is deep enough (ours is about 4 feet deep) the heron don't seem to be able to catch their dinner.
