"They" have taken most of the phone booths away around here. These will soon be a "thing" of the past.

So. what is the plural of Tardis? Tardi?? or just plain tardy - perhaps Big Ben would know. ( I know - groan! )

I would not miss the US phone booths -- they are not particularly attractive. But the British booth should stay. Cell phone users can stay dry in rainy weather.

Another fan of the London phone booths here. Not so much a fan of the cell phone; I use mine about once a month and don't understand how people can keep the things clapped to their heads so much of the time. I don't want to be that accessible, that often ... (call me anti-social, I guess)

Dr Who used blue police boxes, so maybe the other phone box is for Supergirl/boy?

When I was last there, the phone booths weren't ubiquitous, but the old-fashioned tall cabs (originally designed to accommodate gentlemen's dress hats) were. Do they still exist?
