I've seen this picture somewhere before, but it's still glorious. I just wish it was in color. I've heard that the blue of a South African sky is beautiful.

I just joined to correct the reference on this picture. I mislabeled it as Cape of Good Hope, it's Cape Horn (the southernmost point of South
America.

Does anyone know...is this a monument to the bird or a monument to one of the search planes called an albatross? It looks like airplane parts to me.

This is the marker for Cape Horn. The cut out in the center is the bird which is very common in this area. Also, I delibertly removed the color because only the people (the little lumps at the bottom) had color. The monument and sky look about the same in shades of gray.

Hello all
I found a picture of an Albatros taken at the same place. You can see it on my site. Didn't know where else to put it.

7:14 very slow time but the beeper was going on my stove and I started rushing.
Well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it!

It is a Monument to sailors lost at Cape Horn.
