Trying to figure out what the building is in the background. Seems to be near water somewhere.

Do you think Vicki does the crossword puzzle?

Anyone read a date on the paper?

I like a picture that invites you to ask questions!
 |  |
The mesh in the background is reminiscent of Lomonosov and reinforced by the blue of Vicki's mug. Wonderful photo

Looks like October.
The lower section has Sox in the headline.
Was 2005 when the Yankees played them for the
World Series?

Photographer --- come forward and let me know how
my detective skills are doing, please.

The Yankees and the Sox never play each other in the world series because they are all (Chi Sox too)in the American League. But the Bosox beat the Yanks to get into the World Series in 2004. In 2005 The Chisox won it all. The NYTimes has neither Sudoku nor comics, alas, thought it is still my newspaper of choice as the writing is very good.

Good afternoon to all! I guess the real question is what's in the cup? Coffee laced with Baileys? Tea? Brandy? 'Fess up photographer!
 |  |
Come along now Vicki, it is time for your medicine.
 |  |
Canuk Greg, I was thinking the same thing.
 |  |

Vicki, we share a taste for blue and white, though I'm a Boston Globe reader, and enjoy a woodsy view when sitting on my deck or glancing outside from the kitchen table.

What is the word 2 lines above Sox? All I can make out is Flouie (which is an Afrikanerisms for a bad or poor joke) but doesn't seem to fit in at all in this context!
 |  |
It says '...Flows
...Fenway
...for Sox'
(The red sox play at Fenway)
 |  |
'If you get lost between the moon and New York City........' to be sung. A Billy Joel song?

Barbara where is the Sailing Capital of the World? That's a bit of a tease.
 |  |
I think you solved it Paul. The New York Times ran an article on October 3, 2005 which read:
'Champagne Flows Again at Fenway, This Time for Sox'
The words and spacing seem to fit!

What does maen mean?
