After UP26,c8=4 whether e1 or e2=9.UP31.Now h5=6 leads to UP81,but if f5=6,I couldn't find a reasonable length chain that leads to a contradiction.

Perfectly pleasing population of pelicans,perhaps?

So if c5=1, b5<>2.
b. If c5=1 and b5=9, a4=4 (abc6=237), g9=4, g3=1, g5=5, d1=4, d6=8, d9=7, i6=6, More...

Neil points out that in step a), c1 has no candidates as soon as df1=78, because the cf=1 has already cancelled the 1, which I had apparently forgot at that point.

Thanks Neil.
