Since I have only a little time, the following proof is certain to be improved:

1) Start at 22 filled - the given puzzle. Unique Possibilities to 27. (UP 27).
2a) Hidden pair 48 at g78 forbids g7=169 and g8=458 and g23=4 and g6=8.
2b) a9=3 == a9=6 -- a4=6 == a4=4 -- f4=4 == f7=4 -- More...

have finished all the puzzles in one half hour. now 0315. time for bed as i have work at 730. have a great day
 |  |
19:19 - a reasonable toughie today.
 |  |
1) Start 22, UP to 27.
2) Hidden pair 48 at g78 forbids g7=169, g8=1569, g2=4, g3=4, g6=8.
3) g7=8 == g7=4 -- df7=4 == d8=4 -- d6=4 == f4=4 -- a4=4 == a4=6 -- a89=36 == a8=8 forbids g8=8. UP 42.
4) Hidden pair 48 at c23 forbids c3=6, c4=4.
5) c4=9 == b4=9 -- b8=9 == b8=6 -- b13=6 == More...

Only one guess today. Linda, IA. (Except about your brother, never having met him!)

I hazard a guess and say the ear piece from a mobile, which he is holding in his left hand and tsking a photo of himself! Nothin wrong with his ego I think!

25:49 Fairly straight forward today. Took too long, but worth it eventually. (I think!) I know it's not PC, but nice to see a man with a cigar.

34:05 very slow :(
beautiful portrait of the modern young gentleman, very elegant European student type. a self portrait?

Steve,

I finally got a chance to look at your proof. There are enough differences between our proofs to allow someone to combine them and come up with something a lot better than either of us wrote.

1) Start 22, UP to 27.
2) Hidden pair 48 at g78 forbids g7=169, g8=1569, g2=4, More...

Good work Clark!
Your step 3 is depth 6, but it can easily be pared down to depth 5:
3) g7=8 == g7=4 -- f7=4 == f4=4 -- a4=4 == a4=6 -- a89=6 == a9=3 -- a8=3, a8=36 == a8=8 forbids g8=8. UP 42.
Total sets: 2+5+2+5+2+3+3=20. Max depth 5 twice.
Rating: 3(.03)+ 2(.31) + 2(.07)= .85.
Very nice improvement!
 |  |
OOPS!
Total sets of Clark's proof: 2+5+1+5+2+3+3= 21. Rating:2(.03)+2(.07) + 2(.31)+.01 = .83.
 |  |
BTW: Clark's step 3 as a matrix (modified step 3)
g7=8 g7=4
0000 f7=4 f4=4
0000 0000 a4=4 a4=6
0000 0000 0000 a9=6 a9=3
a8=8 0000 0000 a8=6 a8=3
Forbids g8=8
Here, a matrix is more transparent, as it gets rid of the 'broken' chaining.

If one further combines step 2 and More...

I really appreciate the comments from Steve and Clark. I can't follow them all but when I'm stuck they suggest places I should focus oon. Thanks!

07/30/06 poss , 2 guesses - both right
 |  |
alternative depth 3 proof of 6/13/06 tough:

1) Start with 22
2) UP 27
3) NakedTriple: def5=267 => ~(d6, f4)=27
4) Locked: a987=3 => ~b8=3
5) Locked: a987=8 => ~c87=8
6) Locked: a64=4 => ~c4=4
7) Locked: b64=2 => ~c4=2
8) Locked: g987=4 => ~g32=4
9) More...
