Hi Everyone,

Been busy again, and I've come up with another site. This time - word search

http://wordsearch.name

It is still in its early stages, so let me know what could be improved & I'll get to it. Send an email rather than leave a comment here so I will definitely see it.

This would be a much nicer picture if it wasn't for that evil cat hiding in the branches...
 |  |
Good Maen. All the pic needs is a barefoot boy with a fishing pole under the tree. 5:13

Beautiful photo, that should be put on the hard jigsaw puzzle

should i say i was lucky that i havent seen the cat as it jumped off the branch before i reach here or unlucky as it crossed my path?
cheers

Love the reflection, too bad it was cropped mostly out.

Good Maen!
 |  |
The reflection makes the tree look suspended, but that's so the cat has somewhere to play! :)

nice tree.

good photo

Possible proof tough sudoku of 09 14 06:

1) Start at 23 filled - the given puzzle. Unique Possibilities to 27 filled. (UP 27).
2a) fc on 6's: b9 == h9 -- h4 == e4 -- d5 == d1 forbids bh1=6
2b) Chunking fc on 6's with previous step: b9 == e4 -- e2 and h9 -- i8 == i13 -- gh2 and More...
 |  |
Way too long to solve.
 |  |
One can easily wrtie 2b as a matrix, or one can multi color:
b9 h9
00 h4 e4
00 i8 00 i13
c2 00 e2 gh2
forbids c13,b8

To color: b9=blue, h9e4=green, i13=greenish red & amber, c2=green
 |  |
Another way to look at 2b:
b9 =={h9 -- h4 == e4} -- e12i8 =={xwing at i13d1} forbids b13

Good afternoon to all! Beautiful picture! Very much agree with it appearing as a Hard jigsaw puzzle.

Hi Jeff!
Your proof for 2/17/06 has been looked at, but there is some confusion... comments have been added to the page.

Your uncle is one lucky man.

Beautiful!

Finally, a truly tough puzzle. I haven't seen Steve's proof yet so I don't know how it compares to his:

1) Start 23, Unique Possibilities to (UP) 27.
2) h9=6 -- i8=6 == i13=6 gives us h9=6 -> i13=6. h9=6 -- h45=6 == g5=6 -- d5=6 == d1=6 -- i1=6 gives us h9=6 -- i1=6. Combining More...
 |  |
One can replace my steps 2a thru 4 with the following:
2a) b3=6 =={pair 48 at ab3} -- f3=48 =={xywing 69,95,56 at c3f3e2} forbids c2=6
2b) fc on 6's: i8 == i13 -- gh2 == e2 -- e4 == h4 forbids h9=6 UP 38

Harder perhaps to see, but it gets rid of messy coloring step.
 |  |
If we combine Clark's proof and mine, we can get:
1) Start at 23 filled - the given puzzle. Unique Possibilities to 27 filled. (UP 27).

2a) b3=6 =={pair 48 at ab3} -- f3=48 =={xywing 69,95,56 at c3f3e2} forbids c2=6
2b) fc on 6's: i8 == i13 -- gh2 == e2 -- e4 == h4 forbids h9=6 UP More...
 |  |
The elimination of 6 from c2 can also be viewed as ALS:
45689 at abce3, 56 at e2 - 5's are weak, 6's are strong

The photo is a jigsaw!
 |  |
I agree with HalT. Or a boy swinging on a rope over the creek to plop into it.
 |  |
I think that I shall never see ... anything as lovely as a tree.
 |  |
Reflection was not cropped out, if you look at the bottom you can see there is more grassy area. It is a creek, not a lake or pond, so there is little water area to reflect the entire tree.

Hi steve and Clarke
I thought todays puzzle quite easy without the need for any fc's. without going through my proof in detail there was a hidden trio (?) at g3,h3 and i3 157 that seemed to make it straight forward. Am I missing something?
 |  |
12:34.
 |  |
Hi Rod - yes, the possible 5 at h2. How did you eliminate it?
 |  |
Hi Rod again - assuming you are at 27 filled, after exhausting normal techniques - even if you eliminate the 5 at h2 to reveal the hidden triplet, I am not sure that the puzzle becomes straightforward. Without a detailed account, it is hard to pinpoint what you are missing, but you are missing something, that much is certain.

This one almost defeated me!
