MAEN all... Man I love that word it encompasses everyone!!!
 |  |
does it really?
 |  |
I am 'gatvol' from maen. If you understand Afrikaans you'll know what that means.
 |  |
4.52 very easy today
 |  |
7 mins 32
 |  |
Good Maen All
 |  |
10.15 it's amazing what people can build
 |  |
Too many misatkes to post a time.
 |  |
15+ so far, and stuck for the moment. Will keep looking; in the meantime, proof?
 |  |
No challenge in this one - straight to 81 filled - what a pity - back to bed...
 |  |
Same goes for me, Jane!
The 'gatvol', I mean...
It could be translated to 'assful', don't you think?
 |  |
yes, that's quite right!!LOL
 |  |
Ho hum.
1. UP to 28.
2. Pair 36 in Bb2 => eliminations
3. Locked 3's in R1 => eliminations
4. Triplet 247 in R3 => elliminations
5. Locked 7's in R2 => abdc2 <>7
6. Locked 7's in Cf => d4=7. Fill to 81

This one doesn't belong to tough category.

 |  |
Andrei: I agree with what you have implied in the past. A puzzle isn't tough until Super Sudoku runs out of hints. Maybe we can get Gath to impose that as a condition before he runs up these cupcakes.
 |  |
I meant 'Simple Sudoku' of course. It takes a hard puzzle to get my mind working in the morning.
 |  |
Guesses and errors, but fun anyway.
 |  |
'No challenge' ... excellent news ... I might have more luck with this one!
 |  |
22.51 with one guess still leraning how to do the 'toughs'
 |  |
The picture is not only more interesting but also more fun then the puzzle.
 |  |
no timer...too many interruptions today!
 |  |
Good Morning. I dont use the timer. Prefer to relax and do all 4 puzzles while eating breakfast and coffee. Girl,flamingo,lake,monument. Is proof of completion really necessary?
 |  |
DJ, I'm stuck at 28, sorry. Cant see a triple 247 in R3 as my R3 goes 27, 47, 36, 23579, 2347, 569, 35679 - so too many 7s and 2s. Can you help move me on?
 |  |
Can anyone advise how NOT to lose a 'saved' game upon submitting a comment? (Grrrrrrr...)
 |  |
Celia: First, exclude the 3's in R23 of Be2 because of the locked 3's in R1 of that square. Then you have 27,47,36,2579,247,569,35679. The 27, 47 and 247 are a triplet. That is, only 3 possible numbers in 3 cells. You can therefore eliminate the 7's in d3 and i3. i3=7 is the key to the rest of the solution.
 |  |
Celia: Play your game on Simple Sudoku, which you can download for free. It does a much better job of saving your game (for years if you want) and setting it up. Just Google it and you'll find the download site.
 |  |
DJ, oh yes I see now, terribly exciting, thank you very much, am going to try and complete now. Thanks also for suggestion for Simple Sudoko, will try it.
 |  |
Well, now I feel like an idiot. I'd already seen a 1356 quad in Be5, the 19 in R9, and 137 triplet in R1. I missed the 7's, which made the rest easy. Just not up to snuff, today, I guess.
 |  |
Oh yeah - happy Pi day to all! It has special meaning for me - last August I put out a CD by that name. I know it was yesterday for a large chunk of sudokuland, but Sunday's weather rendered us rather impotent around here, and for us it's just starting, anyway.

(Anyone who wants to hear the CD can find it on dcbaby.com. Our first sold on line went to Australia!)
 |  |
I mean cdbaby.com. REALLY not up to snuff. hmph.
 |  |
Yesssssss! First tough conquered! (Thanks to DJ for kick-start.)
 |  |
DJ: Thanks for your tips yesterday. Following your working today I managed to complete the whole thing with no guesses. I got a bit confused with step 1, but realised I had already done that one anyway, so at least I was doing something right myself.
 |  |
Alison and Celia: Nothing more an old teacher likes than the occasional 'thanks.' Have a wonderful day.
 |  |

Hi all! Imho, the hard kakuro puzzle for today is much more interesting then the tough sudoku puzzle. It could be though, that it is merely something new and different for me. At least the kakuro puzzle required an fc! ( I think).
 |  |
6:22
 |  |
8 even for Tough - terrific for me
Must be an easy Tough!
 |  |
Shining mAen to all.

7:45 total minutes, 3:33 setup, 4:12 solving. Cupcake? Peanut brittle?

Edifice looks a little like temples near Ankgor Wat. Could it be a plinth for a statue?
 |  |
Say, Cat Lady?

If you stop this M**N stuff, I'll tell you where this picture was taken...

Deal?
 |  |
Ah, Brook, that's dirty pool!
