The white spot at the bottom is a helicopter that was fighting the fire. The road had re-opened only minutes before we drive through, and we found burning patches on the other side of it as well. Fortunately no one was hurt.

17:52. That was a very easy tough. I'm on to finish up yesterday's puzzles since I missed out on them. Hope everyone has a great evening. It's rainy and stormy here in Georgia. It seems to rain every evening and my dogs are mud red all the time! Oh well.

I looked at the pictures in Archives and low and behold! Ashley Violet and Colton in the pool. Liz - just a pool, but there is one of those mushrooms so it looks like bubbles. I can't think of a worse place to be in August -- a hot tub! Yikes!

Fire. Forest Fire. Bushfire. A too-common feature in both our countries in the summer. Good, though, that we are, more and more, sharing expertise and personel and equipment as we swap seasons between winter and summer on each side of the world.

It was accidental. Driving through the California wine country, we saw the fire on the hillside above us. Only minutes earlier, it had been burning on both sides of the road. By the time I took this picture, the fire-crew had contained but not extinguished it.
