Just had an interesting conversation with my mother. She asked what I was doing and I told her swearing at the house. Oh, right, getting ready for the party. Is her room clean? Yeah, right I said. Well just tell her the party's off if her room isn't clean. I'm not going to cancel her 18th More...

Julie... to answer your question about why IH should care if I buy a cow or two.... He throws a major FIT every time I spend my own money. He considers spending money to be "sinful"!!!! His word!

Back from visiting Mum and shopping, TV back on - nothing much new since I left. Suzy, after I posted that about "Anne", I heard that wasn't her name.

Heidi - I'm convinced there are many men including my own late father, my BIL and my sonIL who consider it a sin for their wives/family to spend money but will spend what they like on something they want themselves. Is IH like that? Or is he just mean?

No new calves, and I don't expect any more for ~ 24 hours. I have to get up earlier than expected, tho' 'cause the cows need more hay. I'll toss 2 rolls over the fence before I go, then finish feeding when I get back from the hospital.

Dana has dyslexia - 18 and we're just working it out! Just goes to show, don't listen to stupid teachers, they don't know you're kids like you do! Mind you, if she writes slowly and carefully she doesn't make errors and we've never been allowed to see stuff with errors. Poor kid has probably been thinking it's because she's dumb or something...

Hi, Suzy, Heidi and CynB!

Suzy, sometimes mothers just don't understand. I speak from experience. (I hope you're sitting down!) I . . . am a mother. I have been known (on rare occasion) to not understand. I have also been not understood on occasion by More...

Julie, Al has one long day a week, when they do both chemo and radiation. the other 4 days are just radiation and much shorter.

Up for intermission. funny how easy it is to sleep in my chair while watching TV and how easy it is to stay awake once in bed. Well, I did sleep 3 hours, but just not sleepy now.

Suzy, you may share with Dana, I am dyslexic. It was never diagnosed in school, they had never heard of it back then. I have lived 67 years with it, and learned to cope. If I print as her paper was, still will get letters wrong, b and d really a lot. Writing cursive helped, not as easy to turn a More...

That's the funny thing MizT, she has absolutely fantastic reading comprehension, though she always scored low on reading tests in primary school, they were oral, she reads silently at least as fast as I do.

And she is brilliant at math.

Suzy, I am sorry to sound harsh about this but this is not about you! This is about Dana, and thank goodness now part of what are her issues has a name. What an amazing trooper she is to have gotten this far in life. Now you truly have something to work with.

BUT Gail, if I had stood my ground she wouldn't have had to do it so hard - that is about me!

She has been amazing, I'm the one who screwed up.

Dear God: Let me give you a list of just some of the things I must remember to be a good Dog.

2. I will not roll on dead seagulls, fish, crabs, etc., just because I like the way they smell.

Suzy the past is the past, you can not change that, and beating yourself over it is not going to fix it...

My husband would like to have it on all night. I have the AC set to turn off a couple of hours after we have gone to bed..
I tend to catch a cold with AC on overnight.. Too cold with out a sheet on, when putting the sheet on I get too hot...

Good evening all - Broni, heat is coming back for this weekend they said gleefully on the weather report tonight (I very nearly threw a shou at the TV - I'm a GOW as well). They were asking where our summer is. What planet are they from?

Suzy - listen to the others and stop beating yourself up.
