Had to go back and check what you posted that you had to apologise for Gail - didn't find anything.... Was it the one where you pointed out Jay was from NZ? If so, no probs, my original post was ambiguous.

Gail, the weather forecast says the cold weather came from down your way... How cold is it where you are?
28/Apr/08 8:28 AM
 |  |

Bl**dy freezing!
28/Apr/08 8:29 AM
 |  |

I am just not usually so terse! Especially without having said good morning.
28/Apr/08 8:30 AM
 |  |

I was talking to Liz last night in chat. She doesn't live too far from me as the crow flies. She mentioned that the rain had started then immediately said it was hail and she couldn't hear a thing! We wondered how long it would take to get here, but it didn't happen. Must have been heading up your way instead!
28/Apr/08 8:32 AM
 |  |

Not terse Gail, concise!

It was 12C inside this morning, 8 outside. Coldest since.... last winter!
28/Apr/08 8:32 AM
 |  |

You are too kind, Suzy.
28/Apr/08 8:34 AM
 |  |

No hail here Gail, just cold wind with a few drops of rain. The forecast says 'possible showers' again, I think that has been the forecast for weeks now.
28/Apr/08 8:34 AM
 |  |

We are expecting a top of 14C. I am sitting here with frozen fingers! I really should go do some STUFF and try and get the circulation moving!
D#3 says they have a student-free day today, I might ring the school to confirm that...I never saw a note to that affect!
28/Apr/08 8:38 AM
 |  |

It has rained this morning, quite heavily at one stage, but not for long enough. It has been drier than a MIL's kiss around here!
28/Apr/08 8:39 AM
 |  |

Fingerless gloves Gail! I'm wearing them now! I can still type, but my hands are warm.

My kids have student free days today, always do for the first 3 terms. My mother says that Victorian teachers were given their pay raise on condition they gave up the student free days, but it's too soon for that to have changed...

Mum is in Moulamein and she is counting the mm they have received. It was sort of raining when I spoke to her and they had 5mm overnight.
28/Apr/08 8:44 AM
 |  |

I bought Mum a rain gauge as a joke gift and she is actually using it!
28/Apr/08 8:48 AM
 |  |

Fingerlings...must try to locate them again! I used to use them when I was working in the factory. Now THAT was cold!
28/Apr/08 8:56 AM
 |  |

I made several pairs this year, then saw them in 3 different shops! Hadn't seen them in shops for year!
28/Apr/08 8:59 AM
 |  |

years...

What did you do in the factory?
28/Apr/08 9:01 AM
 |  |

I bought hubby a pair that were thermally lined! Of course, they didn't have them in my size!
Ok mate, I got to get a move on, or I'll freeze to the seat!
Thanks for the chat, catcha later.
You coming into the chatroom tonight?
28/Apr/08 9:02 AM
 |  |

Do you knit? I can scan the pattern for you if you can't find them in the shops.
28/Apr/08 9:02 AM
 |  |

I stood on a production line that made metal curtain rods. Mind numbing it was.
Thankfully, the business has branched out and they do a lot more metal fabrication these days, but from humble beginnings does an empire emerge...I hope!
28/Apr/08 9:04 AM
 |  |

Depends on whether I can stay awake Gail! Hubby is back to TAFE so you never know...
28/Apr/08 9:06 AM
 |  |

No, I am not in any way crafty. Why would you be when you can buy it for $2 in the C'n'N stores! (Cheap and Nasty)
28/Apr/08 9:06 AM
 |  |

Might catch you then. Ciao for now.
28/Apr/08 9:06 AM
 |  |

I read an article recently about mind numbing jobs Gail, they said they can predict 30 seconds before a mistake is made that it will be made - the brain switches to a kind of 'sleep' mode.
28/Apr/08 9:08 AM
 |  |

all...fancy me getting on while it is still morning...must be an all time record for me.
28/Apr/08 9:38 AM
 |  |

Gail..easiest solution to cold hands is buy an el cheapo pair of gloves from the C'&'N store and just snip of the finger tips. At that price you can't go wrong - by the time they have unraveled the weather will have warmed up and you can throw them out!! Have you rung the school?

Re Jay..he lives in Sydney and that makes him an Ozzie in my book - just because he was born in New Zealand doesn't stop him being one of us. he was also in the later episodes of Star Wars [not the first 3]
