Hi everybody... I'm rejoining the living for a little bit. The pain from the epidural is easing up, and I've nearly slept round the clock. The depression has lightened up a bit, too.

The epidural is for pain management. When I was 20, I broke my back, but nobody believed me that it was broken, so it went untreated. I now have fairly serious permanent damage.

yeah, i'm in lurking mode too. back issues scare me. benny has a broken pars interarticularis on his L4 vertebrea. i guess it isn't bad unless it hurts (which it does at times.) is your back always this painful or does it come and go?

mariannnnnnna, the epidurals work miracles. For 2 and 1/2 months after each one, with the help of pain meds and anti-inflamatories, I can lead a mostly comfy, normal-ish life. One the epidural wears off though.... More...

Dahlias are incredible flowers, but I keep thinking of "The Black Dahlia", and it gives me a creepy feeling. I don't know if any of you DUGs are familiar with that extremely gruesome, unsolved murder. Early days of Hollywood.
